Basis of Faith of H&DCYC

We believe in God the Father; God the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ; and God the Holy Spirit In this Trinity we find our Creator, King, Redeemer and Counsellor. Whilst we have been created for relationship with God, we are all broken and sinful, in need of a saviour.

Jesus is Lord and Saviour, who in His mercy and love, was crucified for our sins, died, and was raised to life to restore our relationship with Himself and give us fullness of life. He now sits at the right hand of the Father in heaven and we await His physical return in power and glory.  

The Holy Spirit lives and works within us to lead, empower, convict, and encourage us into lives of Christlikeness and fruitfulness.   

Through the authority of Jesus, the power of the Holy Spirit and His gifts to His people, we advance His kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. 

We believe the Bible is the all-sufficient living truth of God that teaches, guides, strengthens, directs, and matures us into Christlikeness for the glory of God.   

We believe in the Church, the beautiful diverse family made up of individuals of every age, ethnicity and language, connected through love for and faith in Jesus Christ.  

We are all created in the image of God and, as such, believe that everyone has inherent value and worth. As Christians, we are given the ability to know and enjoy relationship with Him through Jesus.  

We are called to believe and follow Jesus. Through the Holy Spirit, He enables us to fulfil the great commandment to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul and strength, and fulfil the great commission to make disciples of all nations.
